I guess that I’m a simple man-
I make no great demands…
A roof, a bed, a bite to eat-
Spare time upon my hands.

Time to read, and think about-
The things which I have read-
Some wise, ancient philosopher…
Who’s probably long since dead.

I’ve heard that life’s a piece of cake-
To cheerfully run to meet it…
While life might be a piece of cake-
It’s awfully hard to eat it.

I far prefer some time alone-
Enjoy simple pleasures-
For peace and quiet are the things-
That this old cowboy treasures.

Quiet time is a true treasure for some of us.  Can be rare, indeed.
