I Hold her with a smile By Paul Wilson For just a split second You were in my minds view I reach out to touch you From my touch you withdrew Why I asked …no reply came You come to me in dreams I welcome visions of you Gone in an instant it seems I embrace your memory Still fresh in heart and mind All I think about is you How our hearts are aligned Time flies on wings of angels Since you had to go away I hold her with a smile Each and every day Times we shared together Will always be special to me Long conversations we had Till I had to set you free The imaginary road trip We took the summer of nineteen How I wish it could have lasted The future unforeseen She is my shining star Lighting up the night sky I hold her with a smile With these tears I cry Copy Righted 3-4-2021 ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ Paul [This message has been edited by Paul Wilson (03-04-2021 11:43 PM).] |

Beautifully spoken, Paul. You should always, always hold her with that smile, my friend...even though it can be quite painful at times. She is in a better place, and free of the pain this life holds. That should be enough to keep the smile warm on this end. |

John...Thank you for your touching reply. I don't know how to explain it in any other way than God brought us together before I ever knew it. She was born the exact day my favorite cousin of 7 years died, like God took one angel from me but gave me one that would be my daughter...Paul ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ |

Sky...Thank you dear lady for your super nice reply. Written from a challenge phrase Michael gave me.
