Weathered

Memory slips from mind—
Sands through an hourglass.
Visionary gone blind,
In light of dark trespass.
Bare feet along the shores,
Soon time will sweep away
This gift all life adores,
To songs of yesterday.

On shelf—eternal vault,
Placed here for future glean…
We doubt one crack or fault
Could steal the truths we’ve seen.
File away recollections
Of the cherished and dear.
Only display collections
We wish to reappear.

Yesterdays of yesterdays
Once thought preeminent.
A haze of forlorn ways,
Distraught—irrelevant.
Where has the magick gone?
What is it we now hold?
Longings for times passed on
Along Destiny’s fold

These names we’ve etched in stone,
Beneath faces long faded.
Voices emptied of tone,
An eternity jaded.
Some sacred art works here,
To devour all we cherish.
Still the heart, thin and sere,
Till alone, it too must perish.

So nice to see familiar names here. Memories of a simpler time. It made me think of PIP beginning, of the dear poets who have passed, and to many of us that nearly never let our thoughts touch these blue pages anymore. Thank you Michael!!!!!

You speak of a magical time, Justbleu.  I will never forget those days...and the gathering of wonderful souls all here in one place.  I am so happy Ron keeps the archives up so we may all peek in on those days from time to time.     Glad to see you here.

Enjoyed,
Yes the change has been dynamic and a touch sad when thinking of those now gone.
I was here in those early day with a different name, but it like many things are gone.
