There is a Bible on the nightstand-
That long has gone unread.
It used to be my grandpa’s-
He’s forty years been dead.

I used to watch him read it-
And the tears flowed down his face.
It was plain that he was viewing,
A fairer, better place.

He’s been there more than forty years-
That place he read about.
My granny long since joined him-
I can almost hear them shout.

It took a while I must confess-
Till I came to the place-
That I realized how lost I was-
And needful of God’s grace.

I’m glad I finally called on Him-
One cold December eve-
And things I long have known were true-
I finally believe.
Before long I will join them-
The loved ones gone before.
Together we will sing the praise
Of Him we all adore.

John...Very touching write. Enjoyed the part where you found God. I believe we all are ready to embrace those that have gone before us. Take care my friend...Paul

I find here or rather feel a resigned acceptance even a welcoming anticipation of that place we all go in the end.

We all should be reminded life here is not the end, but a spriingboard of what lies ahead..

Sad but sweet. Thanks for the thought
