The Weekend from Hell
By Paul Wilson

Friday seemed like any other day
Nothing special to talk about
Had supper at the regular time
Watched Gold Rush without a doubt

Things got worse about nine PM
Took your temp it was 101.3
Grabbed the Tylenol…gave you two
Fever broke about three

All day Saturday your stomach erupted like a volcano
Panic set in ready to head to the emergency room
You were in denial…said it would pass
My thoughts were more like doom and gloom

Not much sleep Saturday night
That volcano still erupting non stop
Our weekend becoming a nightmare
Hoping it would stop

Sunday much the same
Volcano slowed down some
Got a little sleep that night
My mind was totally numb

Monday morning finally here
Doctor appointment at ten
Made it in plenty of time
Was not allowed in

Sign on door said call this number
If you’ve had any symptoms of Covid-19
We called… doctor came out did a swab
Test was negative thought I’d scream

Doctor said it was the flu
Took you home you slept rest of the day
Meds were given just like doctor said
By Wednesday you were okay

So glad this weekend from hell
Is finally over for us
Thank you God
For taking care of us

Bless you, Paul.

Wishing you a 'peaceful" and merry Christmas:

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Michael...So glad to hear from you. Thanks for taking time to read and reply.

Thought I would write this little story about the past weekend. I was so worried that my wife had gotten covid-19 and with her health issues I was really scared. I think i got about 5 hours sleep the whole weekend.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy Hew Year.

May God bring you serenity and peace in this time of uncertainty...Paul

Paul, can't even imagine the anxiety you went through.  A beautiful poem arose out of it though.   And this "doctor" dog pucky that's going around like it's own disease . . . that's pitiful and I'll bet doctors/insurance is eating it up!

Be healthy, my friend, hug each other and be thankful that everything turned out okay.

Heart beats to both of you . . .

James...Thank you sir for your positive words
I am so thankful that all turned out well.

Many stories like mine has not turned out well for others and I feel sadness for them.

A friend of my youngest son is fighting for his life in ICU right now his father passed away last week from the covid virus and others in his family have it also, because they chose to celebrate Thanksgiving together with family and friends. Thios is such a sad situation that didn't have to happen...Paul
