I reached a sad conclusion-
As I looked back on the years-
And found that strong delusion
Brought about a lot of tears.

As I struggled for survival-
And now I finally know…
An epiphanies arrival-
Life ended long ago..

What I once thought was living-
I found was “marking time”.
What I thought that I was giving-
Was no more than wasted rhyme.

So, that leaves me little choice, now
Everything I say is trite-
As I lay my body down in death,
My pen will cease to write.
