Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2020-11-15 08:57 AM

It is a different kind of lonely
to miss someone of
the online kind.
When you chat,
it is real as it can get.
Then you realize,
you’ve never met.
Their flesh and bones
are words and imagination.
Grownup versions
of imaginary friends.
Even facetime is only
as real as live TV.
The phone is a
disconnected voice.
Sometimes you just want
to be there.
Or for there to be here
so you can hold a hand
or hug to give comfort
and consolation.
You can have a gazillion
virtual friends
and still live in isolation.
Not that I’m not grateful
for the online kind.
To the contrary,
I wish they were
neighbors of mine.

Well, and succinctly put. It seems the dreams never end, especially in light of social media.

A good read here,in these times of isolation and uncertainty knowing friends are there,be it online or in person is so important to sanity, confidence and heart.

Enjoyed.

Thank you.

If you think that's funny, you should see my face now.

Bbynams,

What's funny is your friends Peter and Dick photo bombing your picture! ~L

Hi Lori
Sometime online friends are more supportive in times of need or isolation. What’s real anyway nowadays- reaching out to cyber friends may be more satisfying if one is looking for company and kindred spirits

G,
I have mixed emotions you being able to relate to my lonely. On one hand it is good when one's words connect with an other. On the other hand,it means you are feeling lonely. No bueno.~L
