Judgment Day
By Paul Wilson

Light grows dim across the horizon
Darkness will soon engulf the world we know
All hope for survival rests in our faith
Perhaps future generations will reap seeds we sow

Stars grow dim across Winter’s night sky
Is this the apocalypse we’ve heard so much of ?
Judgment day spoken of in the bible
The gates to Heaven open as God descends from above

Darkness replaced by blinding white light
Spirits of loved ones stand by our side
Many are here… many are not
Our sadness we cannot hide

Oceans run dry and reveal lost souls
Mountains crumble into dust
Fire engulfs fields of grain
Today’s world a memory of mistrust

With wave of hand God destroys all
People run in horror trying to hide
Out of orbit the world begins to wobble
With the Sun earth will collide

The non-believers face eternal damnation
The believers rejoice with God for eternity
The future holds the key to salvation
Judgment day coming for you and me

You had my attention from beginning to end
Poet Paul, much food for thought here..

Sky~

loved the moon so much..he died every
night to let her breathe~

Blissfully, it will be over.  No matter the ending, some of us just need just that.

You put an elegance to a subject many won't touch.

Enjoyed it much, paul.

Michael...So glad to hear from you, Glad that you are ok. Your reply makes perfect sense.
When our time in this world is over the only thing that matters is Our reward is what it is and to me that is no more hurt or pain. Thanks so much for reading and your reply...Paul

Sky...Thank you so much for taking time to read and reply. Saying I had you from the first line brings a smile to me, because hats how I pretty much read poetry, If the first line or two don't peak my interest I usually don't read the whole thing.Again thanks...Paul

"Judgment day coming for you and me"

'Tis down the road a bit (I hope) but I see it lurking in the shadows.  Yeah, and I'll be there - spitting in it's eye (with a smile, of course)!

enjoyed,

j.
