Fast to Rise, Slow to Fall

Sky of amber
dark bird of omen
clouds all violet and blue
your taste lingers
everything is frozen
like last footsteps on the moon
take all the lies
and smash right through this brick wall
but love is fast to rise, slow to fall

Star of fortune
comet tail of hope
world still trying to ring true
you set the sun
pull of the curtain rope
like dead flowers fading in hue
take all the light
and shine like a clarion call
still love is fast to rise, slow to fall

Live, live
take the thorns for the rose
and the hills for the valleys
dream, dream
take reality with a daily dose
until your heart truly sees
farther than your eyes
and even a fool knows all
when in love, love
it is fast to rise
so slow to fall
like rain from above
it’s crazy
but that's love

Sky of azure
bird song of memory
skin all tingling and taut
you amidst the blur
chime out a reverie
about what these years have wrought
the fire never dies
no matter life's occasional squall
and as ever, love is fast to rise, slow to fall
but in the end it was worth it all

An intricate weaving, with the lovely title phrase repeating and yet gaining potency.  love would never come down of it's own accord me thinks.  It's more prone to drift on the winds of fate once the rise has culminated, but oh the places it takes us.

"...you amidst the blur..."

There is a lot here, but this is my favorite line. Very intense writing here.  Love is definitely slow to fall. I still question the "worth it" though.

I know his hands will dig up my secrets"
