I’ve just been reminiscing-
And how the time has flown-
I look back on a lifetime
Wonder where the years have gone.

I’ve wrinkles, scars, and crows-feet-
And each one tells a tale-
Of ventures on life’s timeline-
That always seemed to fail.

I’ve known my share of ladies,
Of women, anyway-
Who came and went like whirlwinds
It seemed that none would stay.

I should have kept their pictures-
This list of my old flames;
I still  remember faces-
But I have long forgot their names.

Memory is deceitful-
It casts a rosy glow-
Over lots of foolish choices-
Believe me, I should know.

I sit here in my study-
And cannot help but ponder-
Just where my steps will take me,
Ere my journey ends…out yonder.

Love this! There is no rosy glow on my foolish choices. As for names, I remember most of them.

ah...memories...so soft to review most of the time...out yonder there is more than life as we know it...filled with more beauty and love than the imagination can weave...well written my friend

A very fine distinction I can only say amen to. I seem to remember both names and faces, almost as if each were a scar and focus had been maintained on them to prevent umm…similar scars from forming.

For the record, crows feet always go better with chicken wings…just sayin’
