There’s music in the wind, my friend-
And music on the road-
There’s music everywhere I turn-
Where I make my abode…

I hear it in the highway hum-
And cricket songs at night…
I hear it greet the coming dawn-
It heralds coming night.

There’s music in my old guitar-
I love to sit and sing-
Within my empty house at night,
To hear my Martin ring.

I’ll always have my music-
It often makes me cry-
I wonder who will sing for me?
When comes my time to die?

John...Loved this. Music plays a great part of my life even though I can't p[lay any instruments, I just love to sing along with the music.

I think all of your music hero's will be singing and playing for you when that day comes...Paul

This is lovely.  I have great memories of sitting with my family while my Grandparents played their guitars.

There is longing in this. You have me wishing that I could hear the sounds that you and your Martin make.

I will, John...should I not find myself ahead of you in line.  I think poets should have poetic funerals anyhow.  Words from the hearts of fellow poets...some who have passed through life feeling every bit as alone as we have, even as their words assured us we weren't.
