Baptism

There are no words to offer you,
And yet this curse, a poet’s due…
To justify what I have felt,
Will lift the pen to strike the welt.

Condemnation, a solemn thing,
Whereby nothing relieves the sting;
You hear it in my pleas for peace,
Intended solely for release.

And so, what choice have I to make?
That to embrace—that to forsake?
I choose neither, thereby draw ire
Within your baptism of fire.

Where shall I stand?  Where shall I go?
The ends of earth calling I know.
The trail I leave, but ash and blood,
Ever to be misunderstood.

Till day I fall in crumbled heap,
And lay these empty arms to sleep.
The image still etched deep in mind,
By which eyes have long since gone blind.

Michael...I feel so much emotion in your words. Take care my friend...Paul

I search for release
When will this Hell set me free
A Baptism of fire may bring peace
The so called holy men really don't know me

To write such emotional words your eyes have not gone blind...it seems to me your life has been your baptism of fire and it is time to turn to Him for the soothing baptism of His love...heartfelt, touching this soul deeply

Release comes in the form of a pen for me, Paul.  The body and mind may know torment, but the spirit is ever freed.

Karen, thank you for the purity of your words.  They are very much heeded, I assure you.

Sky~  thank you.  I don’t accomplish chills in a “good way” very often.
