Thus Passes Worldly Glory

She reached for me again last night,
Nails still embedded in my soul.
…And to the truth of the lie
That prevents her from harvesting it.
I offer it willingly,
Though know
It will never come to pass
In this life.

I also know her
Well enough to realize
That death incarnate
Would not be reason enough
To prevent either of us
From passing alone
And in need.
A sad truth really.

Sic Transit Gloria Mundi.

Sometimes the soul is best kept close. Too many hungry things...

Definitely doing darkness well here.

Oh I agree.  No one ever bothers to warn you that souls have teeth, too though, do they?

Karen, thank you for your kind words.  used to be a big believe of fated souls myself.  I think I will always be holding a lil hope such things exist.
