Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2020-06-04 06:00 AM

My America has found her voice of many colors
come together as one to speak.
My America is ready to grow
into a country renewed
in justice and equality for all.
My America has no more use
for racism to hold it to a painful past.
My America knows
what’s right is right
and what’s wrong is wrong,
whoever you are.
My America has no room for those
that would barter in bias
against the less fortunate.
My America has grown impatient
with those playing god in government
and those that blindly follow them.
My America has said “No”
to the status quo’s toxic state.
My America says change
before it's too late.

Change before it's too late, indeed!

It's scary the buttons those in government willfully push too, while in God-mode.

Some good truth here, a timely reminder of how important writing is in trying to change things for the better no matter the colour of your skin, at this time, with all that is happening, black lives matter, white lives matter and EVERY  life matters, if those in power disagree they should stand aside, there is no room or time for them, don't vote for evil people.

Thank you for sharing

Lori...Great poem. People throwing caution to the wind and others saying lives don't matter. Both are wrong. Where are the law makers and law enforcers? What's wrong is wrong no matter who you are...Paul

Goldenrose,
Unfortunately, those who oppose have bigoted beliefs that run deep and once in government with their hand in the pot, the deal is too sweet to let go.~L

Paul,
Lawmakers, well they are at odds right now. Democrats send the bills to the Republican Senate and Mitch McConnell just sits on it.
Law enforcement?, well I think they are going to be busy sorting themselves out. ~L
