A Cool Summer Rain By Paul Wilson A cool rain greets me this hot Summer night setting my soul free Softly the raindrops fall upon my hot skin releasing the heat inside of me The rain washes away my pain and memories from years of loneliness I’ve lived thru The fresh smell of tonight’s rain has made my heart smile and feel new A calmness comes over me as the cool rain consumes me… like a lovers touch Releasing all the tension and stress of the day come again sweet rain I love you so much As the Summer rain slowly subsides it leaves me satisfied … I must confess I Hope it returns again tomorrow to cool my body with its soft gentle caress The clouds open wide releasing their magic potion once again…I can never get to much The rain that falls upon my body gives me pleasure with its gentle touch With outstretched arms I will be waiting for your return Bring me your sweet nectar for which I yearn Come again Summer rain… come again I’ll be here waiting for you Come again Summer rain… come again I’ll be here waiting for you Copy Righted 7/18/18 ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ |

There is something exceptionally soul-cleansing about a summer rain. You capture it beautifully, Paul. |

Michael...Thanks for taking time to read and reply. Glad you liked it. I wrote this for my daughter 2 years ago, she loved the rain I wasn't going to post this but thought she would like for me to share it with those here on PIP ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ |

Temptress...So glad all is ok with you, all we got were a few broken tree limbs and lost power for about 5 hrs. Thanks so much for reading this poem. I wrote it for my late daughter, she loved the rain...Paul ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ |
