Ice blue skies high above,
Solitary clouds meander.
Whistling wings of grey doves,
time now to remember.

People gone as spring arrives,
death across the world.
The virus, still here, survives,
we are cocooned and curled.

Hum of big bumble bees,
flying to blossoms and flowers.
Soft new green on the trees,
cleaner fresh air now ours.

Hid away in houses silent,
watching the seasons go by.
Friends are now absent,
we ask what next? or why?

Even through the beautiful Spring imagery this carried sadness.

I have a trip planned at the end of next year. I certainly hope the world is a little safer then. At least some creativity has come from the world practically shutting down. There were ghost towns everywhere.

It's hard for me to relate to the uncomfortable feeling people draw from being locked down, having been on self-lockdown for much of my life.  I imagine it must be similar to the unease I have every time I reach for the doorknob to go outside.  Would love to say "welcome to my world" but I know this is no joking matter...people (most people) need people, and social interaction and I see how the world struggles without it.  Just one sad note in a long line of many that have become visible with this virus.

I hope Summer is being more kind to you than Spring was my firend.

What's next is the big question! The why is obvious! Someone didn't wash their hands and half of China got the multi strained FLU! I really liked reading this, as this crisis has come with an opportunity of poetry in motion. Writing about these things as they are happening is a GREAT way to make history! See you around!
