Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2020-03-22 06:12 AM

The rain came down gently
in the dark before dawn.
So softly it settled upon the lawn
barely a sound was made
as drops landed on each green blade.
Not a breath of air was stirring,
not a puff nor a gust occurring.
Straight down it came on all things alike,
without a whisper of thunder or lightning strike.
Quietly as it had tiptoed in
the rain stopped and moved on again.

I'm glad you used the word soothing, The rain was very soothing and that was what I was going for! ~L

I love the rain. I walk through it without an umbrella often. How you describe it here makes me think of how I get disappointed when it doesn't continue. It's still a very calming scene. Enjoyed.

Umm....what's an umbrella, Temptress?

You have me jealous now in two different threads, Lori.  I rarely see any real rain here in CA.  I know you yours is way more serious most of the time.  This light tease of rain on June 1st is glorious though.

Michael,
I have a few around here somewhere. Should I send photos of them or rain so you can drool? 😉

Lori,
How bad is the rain where you are? We were experiencing a drought for a while I think. Mobile, AL is one of the rainiest places in the country from what people from here say.

Loved it, my friend.  Soft, mellow, almost as if you were sitting, and looking up at the moon.

enjoyed,

j.

Jimmy,
My dear friend, your support of my work has meant so much. There is nothing quite like knowing your words have touched someone and maybe even moved them to a better place with a smile or a bit of serenity. Thank you so much.
You are greatly appreciated. ~L

Sven,
Funny you should say that, it just quit raining about an hour ago. The wind must have blown some as the whole porch is wet. I'll need to take a towel if I want to go out and enjoy the "after rain" sounds and smells. ~L
