Today is the big day, we’re headed Kansas City way to meet a little guy I call Gus. I’ve made quite a fuss. Everything is ready as it can be, the kennel, his bed, treats and a squeaky. He is a two year old miniature schnauzer mix whose affection I know will fix the hole in my heart left by my old Winston. I loved that old dog and miss him a ton. I’m so excited! Mizz Kitty won’t be delighted. She has been queen of my lap without a care. Now she is going to have to share. I’ve been giving her clues, trying to break the news. Her food is back up where it used to be and the kennel is plain for her to see. I even let her sniff Winston’s old collar. I still think she will holler. She will try to bully and intimidate to show who’s boss. If she tries to claim our bed it will be her loss. At bedtime she jumps on my chest for scratches everywhere, She’ll lay there for a bit then walk away without a care. She won’t be happy about Gus laying there. Hard telling what she’ll do, I won’t let her run him off, that much is true. Gus is being fostered, he’s a rescue, that’s what my granddaughter likes to do. So we’re off to make the adoption, my heart has no option. LGR(C)12/14/19 |

Oh this makes me smile. Can see you kitty laying down the law to poor little Gus. I just brought home my two puppies (they're 3 but still my puppies) mama. There was a little law laid down there too. Mama is still mama. |

He is a lovey little dog. Sticks to me like glue and gives me lots of kisses. Likes to bark at every little sound (the furnace kicking on) So far he and the cat are doing well...he is not pushing his luck and she is being quite tolerant. In fact they have both been on my lap at the same time with no fur flying! ~L |

JJ, Yes, I did! He has really helped to fill a hole in my heart left behind by my last dog Winston. Gus is very affectionate he makes me very happy. ~L |

Lori, long time no read, but I see you're still writing strong.....I love the depth of heart in these lines.... "Gus is being fostered, he’s a rescue, that’s what my granddaughter likes to do. So we’re off to make the adoption, my heart has no option." I think that defines you and your granddaughter well.....Hope everything works out well.... Eric |
