Sometimes precious moments require chasing down. You must pull them into your lap and plant raspberries, tickle toddler tummy with funny fingers, and sing a silly song about a peek-a-boo boy. Sometimes precious moments don’t wriggle away. They stay to laugh and play, and lift their chin to let raspberries in. They wiggle and squirm hug, slip down and turn. They run off to dance and spin and run right back again to feel buzzy lips and tickly fingertips and hear that silly song. Sometimes precious moments fill your heart. They lock up tight inside your head attached to a smile. You hold on to that because you only get to see your peek-a-boo boy once in a while. Sometimes that’s what makes those moments so precious.
