I can see you in the window,
Looking back across the years-
Your blue eyes haunted, lonely,
Awash with unshed tears.

You are not sure what you’re wanting-
If it comes you’ll surely know-
By the quickening of your pulse
As your heart begins to glow.

It is funny how our dream world,
Can quite enhance the real.
And our pens cannot quite capture-
With our words, just what we feel.

But sometimes, our hearts, in rhythm
Transcend the time and space,
It’s apparent when it happens,
From the smile upon your face.

So smile, the moon is rising-
You can see the falling dew-
Just remember… out there somewhere
Is a heart that beats for you.

This flows softly, and the rhythm calms me for some reason. I have known that smile, that moon, and that heart. Lovely.  ♥️
