Fair to middlin' of nowhere

By the Grace of God
I was born within my skin.
I’m not facing a famine,
slowly starving eating grass.
I am not the target of genocide.
I do not live in fear.
I do not hate out of prejudice.
I do not cause terror in the name of God.
I have never seen war or combat.
I have never lost a child, sibling or parent.
Never have I been consumed by greed
nor blinded by ambition.
I am not cruel,
crippled or disfigured.
I’m not ravaged by disease.
I have some wits about me.
By the Grace of God
I am blessed.
By the Grace of God
I am loved.

Amen.

Beautiful to see this proclaimed:

"I do not live in fear.
I do not hate out of prejudice.
I do not cause terror in the name of God."

Especially in the times we live in today.

Michael,
I was thinking in current terms as I wrote it. Your comment made me realize the truth of it all my life. An exercise in getting a grasp on an attitude of gratitude. ~L

Well said! Wish I could say the same in all points, sadly, I cannot. However, I can certainly agree and applaud the ideals behind the words. Beautiful work, and a moving tribute to Him with Whom we have to do.

Thanks John,
I think I need to read it everyday to remind myself how fortunate I am. ~L
