2 October 2019

There are bonds that are brittle
and break at first strain.
There are some that dissolve
and disappear in the rain.

There are some that will tangle
like long flowing hair.
There are some that unravel
in bright lights’ full glare.

There are some that get lost
on the first moonless night
and others that crumble
at the tiniest fright.

Then, there’s ours that is taller
than Eiffel Tower’s height
and wider yes wider
than starred skies at night;

It’s deeper, much deeper
than Kimberley’s mine
and matures with each year
like the best of good wine.

It’s unbreakable, unshakeable
like granite-topped mountains
and as fresh as the water
of river-fed fountains.

It’s music, it’s laughter,
it’s kissing in the sun.
It’s comfort when pain
births the teardrops of one.

It’s fornever, fornever,
fornever to end
and forever, forever,
forever to blend.

Owl, This was like "Kissing in the sun"
to read!

Enjoyed

It is always that I think of my friends; just from another sphere of living; I miss you, I miss all; but I am not so far away that I do not shine with your hearts in mine.

Owl - The bond that captures the reader of a great work is equally unbreakable and this piece is one of them. Mighty fine writing Owl. Namyh

Thank you, Namyh.  As you say, although I wrote this as a love poem, it can also be read and/or compared to other bonds too.
