A Moment In Time
By Paul Wilson

A moment in time when the future
came together with the past
A seed was planted in our souls
no one knew it would last

One for all…all for one
helping each other in time of need
Peace and love the message shared
no fighting, hate or greed

Bands took their turn on the stage
playing music for their fans
Many came from miles away
singing dancing waving their hands

Hendricks, Joplin, Santana and Cocker made
their mark along with others including The Who
Night into day…day into night
music played on thru day two

Shared by all the music never stopped
for three days and nights
Thru rain, heat and disbelief
no one turned out the stage lights

That weekend in August “69” Woodstock made history
that will forever stand the test of time
Rich and poor side by side
sharing a dream, music, pot and some wine

Some still with us… some are gone
their music still playing in our mind
Take a journey back in time
relive that weekend back in “69”

I was only four years old at the time but after taking up Bass-Guitar and playing for sometime I understand what Woodstock meant and symbolizes. I only wish I was of age to experience it firsthand thank you for a superb piece of Music history......

Inspired-8...I was 22 years old and being from the South I didn't even know about Woodstock. I got married the week it was going on, but was really into all the music they played. Sure wish I could have been there. Thanks for reading and replying...Paul
