Fair to middlin' of nowhere

I would not take offense
or take it as untrue,
if someone were to say of me
some of my marbles
may have got free.
And it could be my fate
to be one taco shy
of a combination plate.
I’ve learned to embrace my one basket
and the fact it
has not all my rocks in it.
Far as the game goes,
heaven knows
I’m not here to win it.
I’m just happy to play.
I know there are plenty quirksome others,
my nutty sisters and brothers,
who stay strong
bumbling along
best as can be done
when you’re a half bubble off plumb.

"I’m not here to win it.

Right there with you on this.  Sooo many out there believing they can and will win...just plain scary.

Course I'm jealous here too...i can't even see my bubble it's so far out of whack!

Droll and witty. Coincides with my philosophy of life:
"I can't say I'm unhappy-
But rather, I'm content-
To get ten cents worth of living,
For every dime I've spent."

Michael,
I guess you just gotta embrace the bubble wherever it may be. My son said in response to this poem that "Nutty as squirrel squirt runs in the family." I'll take that as an affirmation. Like my husband is fond of saying,"it takes us all." ~L

John,
They say the best things in life are free. As for myself, I think the best thing in life is a free doughnut. ~L

L. What a Treat, so many of those little quips came to mind..like 'one sandwich short
of a picnic'..could be me lol.
This was a fun read, & btw..it's what keeps
a person interesting.

Enjoyed,
Sky~

A Love-Sickness.

Now this will be a favorite of mine forever!! My sister is fond of saying I'm half a bubble off 😂 I wear it like a badge of honor!
Great write, so glad I got to find it and have a fabulous laugh. Made my whole day it did!

Wow! thanks everybody! I'd forgotten all about this little funny one. I'm delighted so many of you enjoyed it. I obviously lost track of it. ~L
