ankledeep/halfawake

ankledeep/halfawake
take the morning with a side dish of
unconsciousness
I get the message, I get
semaphore flags, but nobody
can find me lost in a wooden chest
made of the fallen forests of my own
sad creation, elation tempered on the
mill of experience , flames leaping up
my skull dizzied by brown summer haze
danced on chestnut afternoons spent
like notions from a cracked piggy bank brain
thoroughly numbed, I'm not gonna
lose the game but win the battle against
love and madness mixed like a tequila sunrise
flecked with the sands of time
I have left myself defenseless and I've
wasted loving your desolate ways but
it’s my heart to throw away
stepping on reality's shoes

Souls, Good to read you again,
"like notions from a cracked piggy bank brain"..just one of many lines I liked,
you are on a roll here.

A Poem Begins as a
Lump in the Throat,
A Sense of Wrong,
A Home-Sickness,
A Love-Sickness.
