Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2019-07-22 07:14 PM

There is a cat in my lap,
formerly at my feet,
wanting to be scratched.
It’s 3:30 am.
I was up.
She was out.
She saw the light come on
and banged at the door
to come in.
I sit down
and she runs to my feet.
She does not purr
and rub ankles
like other cats.
She presents her backside
as a command,
an order to be served.
Her tail curled in a question mark
asking:
Well are you or aren’t you?
Get the sweet spot
in front of my tail!
Here, let me flip around
so you can do my ears.
Ah, that’s it,
now, do the other one.
Okay, back to the tail
and this time do my back.
And you know you can
reach my ears
sooo much better
from your lap.
Oooooh yes!
Start with the right one.
That’s it,
Harder...harder ...harder,
leaning in to it…
Yeeesss!
Shake my head
and fling drool good!
Alright, now scratch
across the top of my head
to my left ear.
That’s the spot!
Oh man!
You’re making my
back claws curl!
Purrrfect!
Both hands now
under my chin
and down around
my collar.
Mmmmmmm.
Okay, I’m done!
Let me bite your hand!
Alright open the door,
I want out!

Fickle feline.

That is a stinking cat to a T. Forgive me if I am not a feline fan. :-)

LOL! What a great response! Thank you so much!
Your "stinking cat" provoked words I took as high praise! ~L

You don't fool me for a nanosecond, Lori.  You are honoured, happy and grateful to be the adoring handmaiden of such royalty.  All the kitty cats I have or have had, have been mega-affectionate, but all so very much with their own precious, delightful and unique personalities.  And your kitty cat doesn't fool you for a nanosecond either.  You know very well that she is not fickle, but is maintaining her royal demeanour.  Royalty can't afford to show the incredible affection she feels for you, to her subjects and servants.  It wouldn't be proper.     Ear scratches to Her Majesty, please, from an admiring wanna-be subject far across the huuuuuuuuge waterbowl.

Purr-meeows from Shadrach, Meshach and Abigail (you can't call a little girl, Abednego) and woofs from Benji (he didn't want to be left out) and kudos from me!
