We Did Come To Play, Didn’t We?

I played with yours,
you played with mine,
under the sheets,
over the sheets
and when the sheets
came off the corners,
we balled them in the center,
giving us new heights to climb.
The floor was our sandbox,
the couch gave us new
things to do,
slow jazz played in the living room,
blankets, quilts, pillows
on the floor,
me and you,
slow and easy,
my God . . .
and when the passion ebbed,
our bones were soft, malleable,
we couldn’t have stood
if we’d wanted too,
the glow in your eyes
saying everything I needed
to hear.
Then your hand,
at rest on my chest
started to move.
A slow, meandering trail
it followed – over my heart
it traced an outline,
which you kissed,
and your kisses
followed your hand
back and forth
over my stomach,
around my navel,
slowly down,
down,
until I heard you whisper,

". . . we did come to play,
didn’t we?"

Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy!

When you take on love as a topic, (as you often do) you never cease to out do yourself.
You always come at it full on and always capture a uniquely intimate perspective. I just love what you do! ~L

May the rest of my nights go as well . . . ahem! Thanks for the kind words, my friend...

Jimmy, you were not playing when you wrote this. I truly love it. You seared my eyeballs!  And, they relished the burn.
