Dedicated To Those Poets That Have Changed Our Lives
Time may have run out for them
But Their Quills Will Never Run Dry

Poets Of Days Past
By Paul Wilson

I miss you more than you know
your words still echo in my mind
How I wish you were still here
if your lives we could rewind

You treated me like family
my first day on these pages of blue
Not sure if I would fit in
writing poetry…I didn’t have a clue

Those lessons you gave us
will always remain near and dear
Feet and meter what was that I asked
you explained it crystal clear

I learned to write stories of my life
people began to read and reply
I thought I was something
writing poetry…I’m so glad I gave it a try

So many helped me without my asking
taking time to explain things to me
When I started writing poetry
it opened my mind and made me feel free

Many of you have passed on
and left us with empty pages in our lives
You had so many more poems too share with us
each day I visit you in the archives

Where have all the poets gone I once asked
I now know their still here in my heart
Living on forever thru their poetry
and sharing memories with us they impart

Thank you is all I can say
Your poetry and memory lives on
Forever and a day

~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~
Paul

Beautiful tribute, Paul. And whether you are aware of it, or not, you belong in their ranks.

I am glad you remember it as I do, Paul. Thank you for carrying on the fact that as in the world of virtual reality, our poets were as alive to us as if they lived next door.

Sunshine...You are so right, even thou I never met or spoke to any of the poets here in person, I feel like I knew them like they were lifetime friends. I remember the get together a bunch of poets had in Fl. and reading about it and looking at pictures of those that were there. Sure wish I had been there. Thanks for all your help...Paul
