Listening to every heart

Back Then

At one time "prolific"
was the term
applied to her pen

-

her need to share self,
joy, color, emotion
clear and bright.

-

She garnered poet friends
near and far, each
inspiring one and another

-

then soon, one, then another
passed to other planes
and her pen grew gravely quiet.

Was a magical time, this "Back then" that you speak of.  So many poets have passed, and so many of us just can quite stir the passion in our pens the way we used to.  So many emotions lived and relieved in looking back, mixed with the ache for those no longer with us.

Lady K...You bring back so many memories of those I met and loved both as people and poets here at PIP. Your poem has stirred my muse from it's sleep. Thanks.
Like the old saying we can never go back, but it sure helps too know they touched our hearts and we can still get a little inspiration from them thru the archives.
Thanks so much for your heartfelt words...Paul

Yes, Michael, it very much was magical. Musical as well...

Paul, I'm so glad your muse has come back to entertain you...and hopefully, us.

Absent the word "prolific", you've written me, too. HUGS!

I wish I had been here back then. You remain special to many from back then and from some from kinda, sorta back then.

Perhaps quiet, but prolific enough to to attract many nods and smiles

Sunshine - So very sad those 'back thens' are gone but at the same time very happy they happened while I was there to enjoy them. Kinda gives an ironic slant on tomorrow when we all will be in that "back then" column. So I say if you're gonna leave any kind of legacy, do it with a smile and do it now. Nice work to remember Sunshine. Namyh

Sunshine, Sunshine, Sunshine....
I understand this far too well.....
Just don't make us wait too long for another.....

We see the light of those who find the world has passed them by, too late to save a dream that's growing cold

I remember many from "Back Then". And many is the time I want to say "Hello, hey You!, and so much more.

I do, you know, still . . . yet, quietly, in my heart with the warmth of my soul. I'd like to read something new from you, I say, I would love to look at the moon again, me seeing you, you seeing me . . . looking back.

Now what I see is the stars, all their eyes at once looking at me, at all of us, and I'll bet they are wishing, just one more time they could say . . . Hello, hello . . .
Some memories, will linger, forever.
