Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Always with the best intentions
but driving myself crazy
in impossible situations.
Always torn,
without serenity
to decipher the difference
between things that
can not be changed.
Not changing
the things I should
until after
too much damage
is done.
It is madness.
Truly sick to my soul
in this insanity.
It haunts with the reality
I made emotional wounds,
the kind that last a lifetime,
on the innocence
of my child.
Always with the best intentions
but driving myself crazy
in impossible situations.
Always too stressed,
too depressed,
too busy,
too tired,
too critical,
too lenient,
too distracted,
too impatient
to be there for her.
We fought,
her for attention
and I for control.
Somehow we survived.
But her scars run deep
and she struggles
everyday
to feel okay
with herself.
I consume cocktails
of remorse and shame,
guilt with a wedge of hate
while I pray for her happiness.
I’m so very proud of her.
She works hard
to overcome
the obstacles
I put in her way.
She is a fragile flower,
Y et stubborn as a weed.
Fierce and afraid,
she can confound and amaze.
And she’s always has the best intentions.

Thank you for the read Yann and commenting.
I like the way you referred to it as a portrait. ~L

"Best Intentional Insanity", seems like a great act, a tool even. I see it as a woman's prerogative, Lori.

I always have time for you...

Clare Ite it was Intentioned not Intentional.
Splitting hairs maybe, but the insanity I didn't realize to be a choice, but more of a byproduct. Nothing I would call an act. Thanks for reading and giving me your perspective. ~L
