It was a damp and dreary Tuesday
in the evening at the bar
The tavern’s door was open
when she entered like a star

She asked for a ‘Cubra Libre’
as she brushed my arm aside
My nostrils flared from perfume
as she turned to me and sighed

Her hair was thick and flaxen
her eyes deep almond brown
Her lips were full and painted
with a curve as if to frown

Soon my gaze was recognized
and she asked what was my thought
Her beauty, I said, was stunning
and could it well be bought?

She smiled and said, “all things, my friend,
are always best when shared…
and when it comes to lovin’ me,
two souls will then be bared”

She finished her drink and smiled at me
then turned with grace to leave...saying,
“And when next you fall in love, my friend…
perhaps you’ll think of me”

Pure, unadulterated fiction, my 'Niles-ish' friend...

Thanks as always for the read, Miss Lori.

Sure, Sure, anything you say to save face. I understand. . Too bad Mr.Smarty pants that it is such a stretch to imagine you innocently flirtatious and have it go horribly wrong. That's my interpretation and I'm sticking to it. . ~L

I should know better than to try and pull the wool over you, Miss Lori.
Okay, you called me and I'll wimp out and fold...BUT!! I'm not leaving until I tell it like it was!

Listen:
quote:
She finished half her drink in a gulp
then threw the rest in my face, saying;
"The next you hit on me, Bluesy Sucker...
I'll beat your dumb ass to a pulp!!"
...and dat's da tooth!

I almost relived your poem from my past . . . Eh . . . Not a fat chance . . . My success with the ladies of the taverns were even more unsuccessful than hitting on church ladies.

Aww! Miss Pinky!

Seconds with you?

You came
I fled
My face
Turned red!

You bring out the 'shy-guy' in me...
