Like a rubber band
coiling around my fingers,
you give me something trivial to dwell upon
...for a sweet five seconds or so

Yes, I feel the warmth of your innocence
and your tamed, serendipitous smile
I also saw the sexy, alluring playfulness
...of your cocky grin

Pour me some green tea please, baby
so I can see the tensions on your face
as they slowly fade away just by simply
being in this moment...

A lot to be said for living in the moment-it's a great gig if you can get it. As for fading tensions, be it by green tea or green eggs and ham, I'm all about it. ~L

Not at all what I expected. The name was a poem all by itself. We are all in the moment, dear Bluesy. What more can there be?

I always have time for you...

Cool write, I imagine hot cocoa over green-tea, but that's just me. 'in the moment' is
a wonderful premise.

Enjoyed..

Bluesy...I try to read between the lines of some poems when the meaning isn't obvious this is one of those times.
Laugh if you will but I read this as you and your grand daughter having a tea party while she sits on your knee and she has you wrapped around her little finger like a rubber band...Paul

Being from the land of "snow-ghosts", I reckon you would prefer 'hot cocoa' over tea, especially 'ice tea'.

You've gotten everything 'spot-on', Paul, my friend...except she's wasn't my granddaughter!

Thanks so much for reading into this, Paul!

We were all teens at one time...and you know how teens exaggerate!

My mom used to wear a rubber band around her wrist to remind her she had to do something...lol

Thank you Bluesy for taking me there to the moment ~ There is never anything else that can quite compare to them when they are as sweet as that one. Pssst...I don't think you were watching tv at all!  lol

I firmly believe that this moment in time calls for 101 proof Jack Daniels Whiskey . . . You bet!

Wow! That's a major move from 'cheap California Burgundy', Jerry! Ha-ha-ha!
