In the quaint little town of Hollowby Faire
Almost in the middle and yet not quite there
Sits an odd little house on Thackery Lane
That’s very peculiar and still very plain

The wee little fellow who lives in this place
Ties bright shiney bows in the hair on his face
He wears mismatched socks every day on his feet
And wiggles his ears at the people he’ll meet

He wears a tall hat on the top of his head
And there on his hat is a small tiny bed
Within that small bed lives his strange little pet
A furry brown thing he calls CoCo Colette

He works at his house making beautiful toys
That sometimes he’ll give to the girls and the boys
But only if they’ve been the best of the best
Not one little thing will he give to the rest

The toys that he makes are quite special and rare
Like bicycles that you can ride through the air
A magical box that has chocolate within
Each time that it’s opened then it’s full again

A brush that will color a little girl’s hair
Or fill it with glitter that shines in the air
Whenever she’s through she can brush it once more
Her hair will then be like it was once before

Each day children come and will quietly sneak
Up there to his window where they try to peek
But every time that they come there to prowl
Little CoCo Colette will let out a howl

Her howl is so loud and frightening they say
That all of the children will soon run away
The wee little man will just laugh with a smirk
Happily going right on with his work

Polite little children who knock at his door
To bring him some cookies, a dozen or more
Along with a small treat for CoCo Colette
Are the lucky ones who will happily get

A gift of a beautiful rare special toy
To fill them with wonderous magical joy
So children if you are polite as can be
And want to go there then just listen to me

Go get you some cookies and do not forget
To bring something special for CoCo Colette
Then visit the wee little fellow who’s there
At the odd little house in Hollowby Faire

Lovely, no child should be without a book of your magical poetry...and I'll take one too.

Love your poetry. Wish I could have known it as a child. I think this should go back to the top.
