Dark Thirty~

Adrift in these lonely hours
curled fetal for warmth,
minutes dawdle slowly,
a sherpa coverlet
gives much needed comfort
in a cold December bedroom.

Thoughts torment
while body tries to escape
into sleep,
bitter wind shoves the night,
and in the distance a faraway dream
motions the way to solace.

Adrift in these lonely hours
curled fetal for warmth,
minutes dawdle slowly..
without you..

Yeah, like your style, my friend - similar to my own, though thank goodness for you it's different - but wonderful and enjoyable for sure.  Phrase 'Dark Thirty' worked well for both you and Lori.

Sky,
Bless your heart for digging this one out. I was excited to see the title and the read did not let me down. You have a sensitive touch with sadness that gives depth without drama.
You precisely pinpointed a familiar ache and brought it to life. ~L

I can feel it, sky, as if you were sleeping in the Rockies, what an exquisite read

No..not in the rockies. This is an oldie,
but I remember that cold desolate feeling.

Thanks Yann..
