I Watched Her Grace~

It came suddenly as April whispered Spring,
the passing of a man she had been involved with
for half a century.
Oh..how time can flirt with a woman's soul, but she
was raised up right, and did for him what was needed,
even as her own chores of life waited,
even when she ached, and even when it wasn't appreciated,
her instincts prevailed.

Such a Grace about her as she said goodbye,
a coming to terms with this caravan of emotions,
turning wheels in memory, on a journey through the sweetness of youth
to the here and now.
One woman's landscape of joys and sorrows,
the acceptance of a season ending, another to begin.

There is a gentle prayer upon the early morning dawn...
Dear child of God, Woman of substance,
you did the right thing.

What a lesson you taught your sister.
You really "got" me with your ending.
Not sure if I will ever get over it.
Heh.Heh!

Thank you Jerrypat, I wrote this for her
because I admired how she handled it, she had a lot thrown at her in their time together.

Appreciate your thoughts..

Sky,
Why am I not surprised that you would write so well as to meet the needs of another? I have two dead ex's and this touched me. ~L

Very pretty and touchingly written, my friend.
I'm sure it meant the world to her.

It seems that she saw through any kind of complexity and made he simple honorable and yes, graceful gesture, as is your poem

there are great lessons in pain and sorrow, new beginnings, realizing the wealth of being alone and not being lonely.

descriptive and well done, this growth
