Tree-line Of Winter~

On the edge..
at the tree-line of Winter,
where the glow of lamp
calls all home, and inside,
watch the trees bow to the night,
as snow-ghosts leap and swirl
in blue cloaks,
begetting a blizzard child.

Deep in December I ached for you,
as now,
all I ask is that you hold me
by the last firelight,
when the wolves bay,
and the vanishing nears.

Just hold me..
hold me at the tree-line of winter,
landscaped lush with white tears,
the last riff of our song,
till time is no more.

I confess to liking this a lot. It's the longing that I find appealing. Held my attention all the way through. Thank you.

quote:
"snow-ghosts leap and swirl
in blue cloaks,
begetting a blizzard child"
Perhaps more truth than poetry in these beautifully sculpted words, Miss Sky.
When moonlight falls on freshly fallen snow,
and the wind dances across its surface, just so...
your "snow-ghosts do indeed appear, and "swirl in blue cloaks".

I haven't seen snow like that or snow at all very much in a while, but your poetry brings it all back delightfully.

This was actually inspired by a blizzard,
that night the wind was furious, & the drifts!

Thank you Bluesy, there are times when the snow can mesmerize.
