Never inflating the host’s ego,
persistent cheers from the talk show crowd
sound so eloquent within their mechanistic, religious devotion,
to cue cards and applause lights

Then, a commercial break...

A new diet pill ad postures its superiority
followed by slender models of today’s generation
cordially exclaiming how they’re...
“Lovin’ it”

Then, back to the programming...

Delightfully famous personalities
welcome audiences to have a glimpse
of their modestly proportioned estates,
and their modestly proportioned bodies wrapped in fashion

Aspiring artists blast thought-provoking melodies
and expose their gorgeous faces to a curious teenage following
A man returns a shell to its box with a pacified content...
...and lies down to slender dreams

"Ah! 'Tis music which soothed the savage beast!"
"Yeah, but what happens when he wakes up and the 'Brady Bunch' are on...?

...just bein' Bluesy

I had forgotten how deliciously cynical you are with your social commentaries. Always look forward to your perspective. Can almost see the twinkle in your eye as you write. ~L
