Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2018-10-01 11:03 AM

When night time temps
tease about the forties
and the floors begin to chill,
the thermostat’s teeth
start to chatter.
Warm fuzzy slippers
hibernating all summer
under the bed come out
to warm cold toes.
And robes once dormant,
wake to wrap around
cold shoulders that shudder
at the thought of having
to turn the furnace on.

Yep, Lori . . . Getting ready for the cold, cold winter. Gets a bit under the skin, at least it does mine. Nothing to it but hang in with what's coming. If I had the money I'd fly  to Hawaii, but I don't so like everyone else, I hunker down to it and hopefully survive it.
