1Slick

It’s been a while, Slick,
since we’ve spoken,
traded words,
emotions, talked
of our babies –
their babies –
passed photos,
back and forth,
looked at the moon,
saw one another’s eyes,
looking back . . .
since we played together
on the Blue Pages,
our souls as close
as they could ever be.

It’s been a while, Slick.
I miss you so.

Thanks for responding, Jerry.  The poet in question is Helen Chambers, aka, 1slick_lady, who passed in 2013.

And a Lady she was . . .

j.

P.S. - you obviously didn't know her so don't feel poorly about your comment. Not knowing I would have responded the same way.

I miss her, too. Reading her poetry was always a treat... but those fine words paled in comparison with the lady herself.

A well written tribute to a dearly loved lady. I remember her well. We've lost quite a few in the last decade didn't we.

Like scattered leaves...my words will flow
