Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Life isn’t a game.
We’re not here to play
screw your buddy
or winner take all.
Bullies don’t get to win the day.
We’re not here to be filled
with prejudice and hate.
Greed can corrupt any task.
Violence is wrong
no matter it’s mask.
Our marks we draw in the sand,
that give us something we can command,
does not relieve us of our trust
to protect this planet given us.
No matter how different we may be,
you are no less important than me.
Kindness and compassion
are the true commodities.
Without them, we are all enemies.

Many play their life as they would a game, dear Lori. Perhaps that's because they don't value it so much. People of faith, on the other hand, know the value of their life because they know the price that was paid for it.

I always have time for you...

I love the fact that you can show the world your absolute inner self, Lori. I, myself try to live my life in that way, but I fall off the "be nice Jerry" far more than I want to.

Clare,
Thanks for the read and your most thoughtful comment. His death was for nothing if we don't carry some WWJD in our hearts. Too many haters out there calling themselves Christians. ~L

You are right, everyone should. But should

Thanks Jerry!
You didn't grow up with many kindness role models that you remember. Being kind is simpler than being nice. Try it! ~L

I've never been anybody's enemy; maybe not their friend, any longer, for whatever reason.
I tend to be quite friendly - though a keep to myself type person.  Being kind and polite is sort of a passion with me, and I raised my kids to be the same (and they practice it too).

Ha, enough of my secrets!  Love the write - so much truth here and quite a bit of heart too.

Jimmy,
Why does it not surprise me that you are a kind and polite guy? I'm happy to count you among my friends. ~L

Pinkpolitics,

I'm so glad you like my philosophy, I have been called a libtard. Well sticks and stones and all that stuff...  Hugs ~L

I believe a lot of us go thru thru our younger years, self imposed, but we grow...and build on what we've learned from the bad, which are sometimes blessings in secret.  Lovely write.

I have tried it, Lori, and it works. My goodness, you make it sound like I am Mister Ebnneabor(sp) Scrooge, and I am not.

Gosh Jerry you must believe in wearing the shoe if it fits. I didn't write this about YOU! It was inspired by my brother-in-law who is fond of calling me a libtard and black people ni**ers. I consider him a trumpturd.
