Midday is as black as midnight,
Silence so loud it hurts your ears.
Do not ask your maker for light,
Dark and quiet comes from your jeers.

Leave your gods and deities be,
Beg not for a godly way out.
You are the cause of this, you know,
Each man his prison brings about.

If it is paradise you seek,
Try living your life so it fits.
A light will shine, words will be spoke,
And out of this jam you will get.

we do seem to create our own heaven and hell, sometimes a bit of both at the same time. ~L

Hmmm . . .  I don’t really create anything – not my good, nor my bads, they all stem from (for lack of a better term) my environment, physically, mentally, spiritually, and more. Unfortunately God instilled in me (us, I guess) the right of free will, the ability to make my own decisions, however those turn out. And not all of those are made with good data. Not that the data makes that much difference – good of bad, I still have a knack of flocking-up!  And sometimes, when I think I’m really on top of things, it’s my backside that takes the brunt of all that goodness.
I try hard to be . . . well, a good person, but also I believe in a (hereafter?), and Karma, and spirits/souls (old and newer) – I also believe I must have really peed someone, something, along the line, off, as although I can’t really say my life has been bad, it sure as hell seems to me there are a lot of souls (animals?)   a lot farther ahead of the game creating a lot worse Karma than am I.
Ah so!  It’s all just speculation, isn’t it.  We all choose what version of the propaganda we wish to go with and I guess that does mean I create my life’s events and penalties, huh?  What a run around.
From birth, basically, we are instructed to BELIEVE in something we can’t see, hear, taste, touch, feel, or know in any way, it’s reality. And . . .
Oops, enough mouth is enough mouth – probably sealed my fate for sure ( another example of trying to do/say something good-person-like, while flocking-up my next life’s Karmic Debt.
Ah well, one can only try . . . I’m sure I’ll meet some you, somewhere, in the afterlife . . . I can only hope it’s on the bank of some river or such, lazily, cat-fishing, versus shoveling coal.

j.

I hardly know where to start thanking you for your super job of commenting on my little poem. I surely will not be able to touch on each and every point, Jimmy, so I will not attempt it, besides it is late afternoon and what little mind I do have is not nearly as sharp as it was earlier this day. I am not a beliver in anything except "to thine onself be true." I thinnk that is the way it goes. If I believe in anything, it surely isn't those vaunted Heavenly Gates. The sky is rumbling, it is raining those dogs and cats we hear so much about. I'm outta here. Thank you you very much man, for your brilliant comment to my poem.
