Unconditioned

Uncompromised

Life thats missing

Death only defies

Storms regardless

The pills or drugs

Consuming this darkness

Destroying all that was

No escaping

Smothering clutch

No placating

The Devil's touch

Depression sucks. I have danced with that devil for decades. You have described it well.
Live with it long enough and it becomes more like someone you have known for a long time and don't like and do your best to avoid. I can think of worse things to have to deal with that are more physically crippling(I have a low pain tolerance) even though it has seemed near intolerable at times. It always gets better. Never give up. ~L

Suck in a breath and dog-paddle if you can't swim, my friend -  always a way to go on.

"No escaping

The Devil's touch"

"Smothering clutch" is the reality within the four lines.

Thank you everyone for your replies, 42 years I have dealt with this and though my writing about it may seem negative it actually is a catharsis and provides an escape.

cheers

A very touching write which I can relate to on many levels. I'm glad to hear that facing it head on and writing about it is good therapy for you. May your days be filled with more strength and light than darkness. Thank you for sharing ~ Alana
