Fair to middlin' of nowhere

The thunder rumbled low and tempting
like a woman’s voice on a sultry night.
The skies were heavy and full
of their impending release.
The wind held its breath in anticipation.
Birds chirped away
like ladies at an ice cream social.
We all waited for the rain.

i love the images, Lori, the va et vient between thunder and women, this is very creative and suggestive

Thanks Yann,
I was trying it from a different angle. I seem to have written a lot about rain and storms and was looking for something I hadn't already said. ~L
