Prism Of Time
By Paul Wilson

Looking thru the prism of time
each year marked in it’s own way
Why were we put here
why do some go and some stay

Who makes these choices for us
why do we suffer thru pain and sorrow
Never knowing if we will see
the sunrise tomorrow

Thru this prism of time we see
our lives distorted view
Nothing the same as before
you’re all alone… no one to help you

We follow a path thru the stars
taking us where… we don’t know
Moonbeams leading us onward
guiding us with their glow

Thru this prism of time we see the past
re-living moments and memories in our mind
Visiting days and years of long ago
not sure of what we will find

We close our eyes
to block out the sun
We open our mind
on this journey just begun

Searching for the answers of our existence
why are we here…in this star filled sky
Looking thru the prism of time
we will forever ask why

Paul,
You ask the ageless question in fine form. A question that we all ask yet face very much alone. Well done. ~L

Just finished reading "Prism of Time." You stated some real facts when you wrote this poem. "Why are we here? Where are we going," is something most of us relate to. I have figured things out to my satisfaction. Even so, I don't try to make others believe my feelings. They are doing their best to figure out things themselves. Leave them alone.

Jerry... First I am not trying to get others to believe my feelings, why would I do that.
I write what comes into my mind and if anyone wants to read it they are welcome. I write to please myself not people like you.
I'm glad that you have life all figured out to your satisfaction. Call me a dreamer for thinking that there is more to life than we know, Don't tell me to leave people alone I am not asking or forcing anyone too read what I write, and I would be delighted if you never read or replied to any of my poems again, cause I wouldn't want to influence your narrow minded way of thinking.

"Looking thru the prism of time
we will forever ask why"

It can seem like forever while enduring the process...  but the prism we look through here on this earth will not be the one we look through beyond it, Paul.  I like to think we'll get our answer with the next one.
