Fair to middlin' of nowhere

It may be hard to imagine
the shy line I have drawn in the sand.
I’m outwardly open and friendly,
a touch obnoxious at times.
But I will only let you in so far
as you can’t see the rest of me.
I am a bit of an iceberg you see.
Though I will admit
that on paper I have a habit
of telling on my underwater parts.
Even I’m not sure
what all is under there.
But I’ll write an expose to strangers
as I get it figured out.
Those that know me on paper
know a deeper me.
Though I’ve shown my lighter side too.
I suppose I’ve even shown my arse a time or two.
No matter, I know I have a special connection
to the paper and thus to you the reader.
Readers come and readers go
and maybe I won’t get read.
The most important thing is
I got my words said.

You bet you have gotten your words said . . . And you say them so well.

~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~
