Fair to middlin' of nowhere

My heart is too heavy today.
It is dragging my feet
and hanging my head
as it pulls at the corners
of my mouth.
The battle was lost
and I fell defeated
to live and fight another day,
the war wages on.
I grow battle weary.
My counterpart seems invincible,
convinced he is already dead.

I'm tough as melted marshmallow...to get off fingers and clothes...I'm sticking with it.
Bless your heart. ~L
