Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Not so much about you anymore,
it’s a little more about me,
now that you know you’re not dying.
I’m waiting my turn for your attentions
and the line is not getting any shorter.
You waste precious time and energy
getting angry over things you can’t control.
It poisons your mind and body,
Making it harder and slower to  recover.
It keeps you farther away from me.
I’ll not sit idly by while you wallow
leaving me to wait for a someday.
I’ll fight for us when you can’t,
when you don’t,
and when you won’t.
Because I see things differently,
it’s not so much about you anymore,
it’s a little more about me.

Well expressed Lori, some in depth thoughts that stimulate the reader to consider the perspective.

I agree with Eric, Miss Lori. I have a few of the nuts & bolts and you know I'm in your corner with a wrench.

Stay the course, my friend.

Thanks Eric,
I'm happy to know I made sense to readers 'outside the loop' so to speak. It's been 2 years since he was diagnosed with cancer and his world turned upside down. It has been over a year with no evidence of disease. He is still recovering from the radiation damage to his salivary glands and taste buds, which makes eating a challenge still. Some things have to be put on hold as you find your new 'normal'. But that doesn't work with a relationship. ~L

Stay the course is right, Bluesy. And make sure to run a tight ship, because hanging loose indefinitely don't cut it. The nuts and bolts and wrench will come in handy. I have turned over a new leaf. I want a vibrant marriage and I'm not going down without a fight. ~L
