Fair to middlin' of nowhere

I know I must
be gathering dust
as I snooze
day after day in my chair.
Each day the same,
chores not going anywhere.
Something addictive
about dreaming
and trying to remember
so you can
pick up where you left off…
Avoiding anxieties
that come out
in nightmares.

While the phrase 'picking up where you left off'… has an every day feel about it, in reality, it takes you in the wrong direction.

...or so methinks.
