If not for a loose end, I would have been there,
far afield where blooms occur only if you see them
and trees make sounds that are the stuff of legends

Loose ends that can tighten around a neck
like a hangman's noose, choking the mind free of
its guilt, its regrets, and its sorrows

I would have been there if not for a loose end...
Just one more act of cowardice where I allowed fear
to exceed my better judgment

"Just one more act of cowardice where I allowed fear
to exceed my better judgment"

Man, that is the kind of thinkin' that keeps me awake at night and haunts my days and keeps me kicking myself in the behind. Its a bitter pill. ~L
