"No news is good news", all the townsfolk would say
while on the other side of chew'n, it was really another way

"Don't take that ‘Leland Lee’ boy! She's bound to run aground"!
But I packed my bags up anyway, couldn't wait to leave that town

There were secrets they'd been keep'n, an' know'n me as one to talk,
I'd heard em' all a-whisper'n from the time that I could walk

The river there flowed swiftly, an' kept us full of fish
It’s said Miss Molly drowned there, some say that was her wish

Though no one ever found her, no one seemed to care
Now I'm sail'n up to Joplin, Miss Mollys' paid my fare

Aww! Thanks, Miss Lori. Like many of my pieces, this one goes back to when I returned to Pip after more than a ten-year absence. I re-edit them and re-introduce them. Others are pretty fresh. I really appreciate you're giving them the 'once-over'.

Very sweet of you.
